WORD! Jactation

Pierre Metivier

Yesterday’s Dictonary.com‘s word of the day was jactation, which phonetic similarity to another word piqued my interest.  I did a bit of google research on how and when to use it properly.

I think Wikipedia does a nice job of explaining the origins.  (it can also be spelled jactition).

A quick search on google news brought up comment from a Mr. Azzopardi responding to a bank scandal in the Times of Malta newsblog.

And here’s a sample of using the word jactate as in the act of boasting.
