Watch Late Night TV and Gain Weight

Want to lose weight? Turn off the TV.

Research out of Ohio State University found that being exposed to light at night — even dim light from watching the television, playing a video game or surfing the Internet — might actually make you gain weight, even if you aren’t eating more.

The facts:

The study featured three groups of mice. The first had a regular schedule of eight hours of dark and 16 hours of light. The second group had eight hours of dim-light and 16-hours of full light. The third had a full day of light.

After a week, the mice that never got even a bit of total darkness outweighed the other mice — although all mice ate and exercised the same amount.
