New Social Media Job Hunting Tips

Savvy social media guru and PR gal Deanna Ferrari just posted some great post-college job searching tips on her blog.

Ferrari says one of the biggest mistakes in a career hunt is not being detailed enough. For example:

-Don’t send the same resume and cover letter to each company; tailor each for the specific job and requirements.

-Say what you’re actually applying for in your cover letter.

-Say who you are applying to in the cover letter (no one at the company is named “To whom it may concern”).

Her social media job searching tips?

-Follow the people/companies you want to work for on Twitter and get to know them first.

-Join LinkedIn groups for your job industry

-Clean up your Facebook page!
