Favorite DIY Party Foods on Pinterest

Admit it, you’re just as addicted to Pinterest as we are. We’ve spent hours scouring DIY boards for some of our favorite party food pins of the week. Did we miss your favorite? Place the link in the comment section!

Baby Shower Treats

How adorable are these pretzel chicks? And they are surprisingly super simple. You’ll need a nonstick mat, twist pretzels in any size, white or yellow candy coating, a spoon (come on that should be easy!) and mini chocolate dots in brown and orange. Just place the pretzels on the nonstick mat. Place the melted candy coating inside each pretzel until all the holes are filled. Keep it inside the lines! Let the coating set and then add the mini chocolate dot for the eye and melt the orange chocolate dot and paint your beak.

Summer BBQ

This watermelon cooler looks SO refreshing. The Epicurious recipe doesn’t require mixology skills to pull off, either! What you’ll need: half a cup of vodka, fourth a cup of Triple Sec, 3 tablespoons of lime juice and about 3 pounds of seedless watermelon (remove the rind) that is cut into small pieces for the drink (leave some watermelon for the garnish — like in the picture). How to make it: blend the watermelon pieces and strain the mixture through a very fine sieve set over a pitcher. Stir in the vodka, the Triple Sec, and the lime juice, pour the mix into long-stemmed glasses filled with ice cubes, and garnish each drink with a watermelon slice.

Birthday Party

Dinosaur themed kids party in the works? This easy-to-do and super healthy buffet treat is the perfect addition. Choose your favorite cut fruits for inside the “mouth” of the dinosaur (you can use the fruit you remove from the “mouth” shaped hole you’ll make in the watermelon). Then with the discarded rind you removed to create the dinosaur’s mouth create shapes for the eyes, nose, ears and any other dinosaur features you want to create.

LOVE Pinterest for ideas such as these. Although I think I’ll need a watermelon cooler to even think about trying out the alligator watermelon fruit bowl! Great ideas – thanks!
